16 years old boy killed while playing basketball

16-year-old boy was among two people who were killed and another five people wounded Wednesday in separate shootings, according to Chicago police.
The boy was playing basketball in the 9700 block of South Yates Avenue in the Jeffery Manor neighborhood about 4:35 p.m. when a sedan with two people pulled up, and one jumped out and opened fire.

The 16-year-old was struck multiple times in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The sedan fled the area. 
Officers answering a call about gunfire on the Southwest Side discovered a 19-year-old man in the 2400 block of South Sacramento Avenue in Little Village around 8:30 a.m., police said.
He had been shot in the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.
In non-fatal shootings:
About 8:15 p.m. in the 1900 block of West Webster Avenue, someone shot a 29-year-old man in his leg, police said. He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center where his condition had stabilized.
Around 4:55 p.m. a 16-year-old boy and a 21-year-old man were wounded during a shooting in the 700 block of South St. Louis Avenue, in the Homan Square neighborhood, police said.
The 16-year-old was shot in the right leg and took a private vehicle to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was in good condition. The 21-year-old was also wounded in the leg and listed in good condition at Mount Sinai.
About 2 p.m., a 34-year-old man was shot in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the 3100 block of West Madison Street. The 34-year-old was in good condition at Mount Sinai with a gunshot wound to the foot, police said.
About 11:10 a.m. on the South Side, another 19-year-old man was shot in the West Englewood neighborhood in the 7200 block of South Paulina Street, police said.
The victim told police he was standing outside when a man dressed in all back and a red hat approached and opened fire. The victim was struck in the lower left leg and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. His condition was stabilized, police said.
No one was in custody, and police were investigating.
